Press Release - 21st April 2009
Recently Cheadle's Award Winning Amateur Theatrical Society took part in the One Act Festival at the Mitchell Memorial Theatre in Hanley. They performed “Holmes Sweet Holmes” a comedy by Jim Spernick and directed by Marge Stanley.
All plays are marked out of 100 and we attained another Certificate of Merit (for 75 marks or over) this year. Our cast consisted of Daniel Ede, Marj Stokes, Janice Bentley, Rebecca Snow and newcomer Mike Ramian.
Much to our delight Janice won the New Peoples Theatre Award for the Best Actress over 21 years of age.
Could there be more? Yes!!!!!
The Mary Blakeman Trophy for best Presentation was won by C.A.T.S.; this award covers set design, special effects, make up, costumes, lighting and sound.
This was an excellent award for us.
So as you can see we continue to have success under the leadership of Marge.
Please keep supporting us, and live theatre will be with you again in October as we have now begun casting for our play “Hobson's Choice”
