SYNOPSIS

Prudence Hannacott, the domineering sister of the late Farmer Hannacott comes to manage the farm as instructed in his will. However, she immediately starts managing the people on the farm as well. Further problems arise when Prudence accepts a part in a local amateur production - without having read the play. When Mr Meacock, the local publican arrives for a private rehearsal of his part as Prudence's suitor, she totally misconstrues his advances...
